As an artist, my work is deeply rooted in the exploration of humanity’s relationship with the land.  I am driven by the concept of relational ontology, seeking to understand and strengthen the interconnectedness between all beings and the natural world.   My journey in reconnecting with the land has led me to a profound appreciation for the balance that can be found between the soul, animals, insects and humans.

In my artistic practice, I explore the idea of consciously farming with an acute awareness of the interconnectedness.  I firmly believe that all beings, including the elements themselves, are part of a complex web of relationships and that understanding and respecting these connections is essential for sustainable and harmonious coexistence.  Through my art, I seek to express the deep wisdom that can be gleaned from recognizing and honoring interplay.

Central to my approach is the utilization of observation as a tool for successful farming.  By closely studying the land, its rhythms, and the diverse life forms it supports, I strive to cultivate crops that not only the land can receive, but also ones that can contribute to the overall balance of the ecosystem.  This method of conscious farming is my way of demonstrating the profound respect I hold for the land and its inhabitants, and my commitment to nurturing a reciprocal relationship that is beneficial to all.

Furthermore, I place great emphasis on integrating native plant habitat into the agricultural landscape.  By doing so , I seek to enrich and diversify the habitat, providing a home for native species and further strengthening the reciprocity between humans and their environment.  Through my art, I aim to showcase the beauty and significance of planting native species, demonstrating how this practice can deepen our connection to the land and contribute to the rich tapestry of life.

Ultimately, my art reflects my deep reverence of the natural world and a celebration of the intricate relationships that bind us to it.  Through my work I invite others to join me in exploring the profound intersections of relational ontology, and to contemplate the ways in which we, as individuals and as a society, can cultivate a more harmonious and sustainable coexistence with the land and its inhabitants.  I am committed to using my art as a means of raising awareness, fostering empathy, and inspiring action towards a more balanced and reciprocal relationship with the natural world.

My goal is to engage in an art residency program that allows me to deeply intertwine farming practices with community engagement. The objective is to foster a connection between people and the land through a shared understanding.  I will produce works that capture the essence of a relational farming approach and raise awareness about the importance of interconnectivity.  The workshops will be hands-on experiences that delve into the essence of the crops and native plants being cultivated.  Participants will explore activities like seed saving, plant identification, and observing crops at different growth stages.   Additionally, they will learn about processing techniques, explore opportunities to create artworks that reflect the farm’s connection to the community and participate in virtual art discussions.
